Science is easier to follow when the concepts, diagrams, and calculations connect. I help students work through those connections in person, with support in school science and selected chemistry, physics, and psychology courses.

Connect the explanation to the problem
We can start by describing what is happening in plain language, then connect that explanation to a diagram, an equation, or an example. The aim is to understand why a method fits the problem, rather than simply memorize which formula to use.
In chemistry and physics, that can mean paying close attention to units, assumptions, and the meaning of each quantity. In psychology, it can mean distinguishing related concepts and practicing how to apply them to an example.
School science and subject-specific support
Elementary and middle school science support covers the foundational topics listed below. At high school level, I offer chemistry, physics, and psychology, including the AP courses shown in the course lists.
College support includes selected general, organic, and physical chemistry courses; mechanics and electricity and magnetism; and introductory and subject-specific psychology courses. Share your course title and current topic when you get in touch so we can discuss the right fit.
An engineering and psychology background
I hold bachelor’s degrees in Chemical Engineering and Psychology and a master’s degree in Chemical Engineering. I also spent two years tutoring college mathematics, chemistry, and physics with BuffTutors at CU-Boulder.
Sessions focus on your course material and the concepts you want to understand. My broader tutoring experience includes college mathematics at Auburn University and math and reading at Kumon.
